ALTA Fitness is about helping people achieve their goals to be fitter, healthier and happier.
We are a boutique fitness studio that offers personal training, rehabilitation and coaching programs. With our small centre of excellence in fitness and performance our major focus is in strength and conditioning disciplines that will nurture and inspire our local community and assist aspiring athletes.
Whether it is just being at your best, aiming to live longer, rehabilitation or sports performance, it’s our passion. Looking back on our experiences, we wish we had someone to guide and help us to be fitter and at our best throughout our years.
In 2016 we, Jean-Claude (JC) and Linda, opened our family own studio based in Canterbury where we have found our niche with a particular focus in helping those in their 40’s to 80’s+.
For you to get to know us we’ve put together a little bit about us and why we do what we do.
Why we are in the Fitness Industry?
JC grew up in the mountains of Tahoe USA, involved in international cycling and skiing, much of what he knows today was not known then. He believes that his sporting career could have been different if he’d had this knowledge and support behind him.
Helping people is our aim.
Our aim is to help people reach their goals be it to simply keep fit, overcome an injury with rehab, high performance sports or the Olympics. We realised that with all we have learnt from our experiences we were in a position to really help others with both their fitness and wellbeing; and we have a caring, highly educated and experienced team of fully qualified personal trainers.
What we do.
We have found that there is much to be gained by setting up sound, realistic programs that get results with a variety of clients. We are working with our clients to move well; have greater balance, stability, mobility; and strength to be fitter, healthier and happier over the years to come.
Continuing to learn.
We are continually learning – we actively keep ourselves up to date with what is happening in the world. Our lives revolve around eating well, exercising often, making time for our family and friends, having adventures, and we plan to live to a ripe old age as an example of good, healthy living.

In fact, our vision is to help our whole community to be fitter, healthier and happier. ALTA’s clients range from young teens to those in their 80s – it is never too late to start.
